Liquid Highways
This could be a sci-fi/ghost story or remnants of some dreamt mystery; you may have a different interpretation. The woman’s lips appear to be a portal to somewhere else in the cosmos. There is another portal (thru the pothole) where a rose alludes to possibilities of other worlds lying just behind this one.
The mattress motif makes numerous appearances in my art. I’m intrigued by these ubiquitous objects on which many things happen (sleep, dreams, sex, illness, death, TV watching, music making, music listening, reading, writing, eating, art making, pillow talking, pillow fighting, partying, the settling of dust, etc)… an exhaustive list would be, well… exhausting. And long. I’m told things can be hidden in them.
