I’m sometimes struck by an impulse to alter an artwork I had thought was ‘finished’. That’s how ‘Church of the Drowned Mattress’ happened. It combines ‘Plain Air 1’ and ‘Plain Air 2’ in one larger composition. As an accidental/surprise gift, a vertical column of sea creatures appeared at center.
